What is the true reason the UN is against the war in Iraq? The answer could be that they were making too much money off of Saddam and now that the gravy train has stopped, they are angry with America. The "Oil for food" program, which the UN originally created to keep Saddam from buying weapons of mass destruction, was exploited by Saddam. Evidence is now being uncovered which shows Saddam used oil vouchers to pay members of the UN to look the other way while he continued his quest for dominance in the middle east. Oil vouchers were also used to support terrorist groups and to buy weapons.
the oil vouchers (aside from their original purpose) were given to a
recipient. The voucher would be good for several million barrels of oil. The recipient then gives
the voucher to an oil trader who pays them in money. Clever, isn't it?
Below is a report from MEMRI (Middle East Media Research Institute) regarding the exploitation of this program
by Saddam Hussein.
